Sports has always been part of who I am, whether an active player, coach or participant, or as an armchair athlete. For most of my life, I’ve enjoyed team and individual competition.
As a parent, I had naturally dedicated myself to ensuring that my kids (now aged 20 and 16) and others’ were involved with teams that put the needs of the athletes first. Fun for the competitors, fairness for the players, fellow and opposing team members and respect for the game, coaches and officials. These values have always rated high towards my interest in sports and athletics.
Competition today, on the contrary, throughout the world of spectator sports seems only to be all about winning. But beyond the game and beyond the cheers there is often an untold story. And these stories are what motivated me to bring you “BEYONDtheCheers” live, for conversations inside and outside the world of sports and athletics.
I was, initially, bitten by the bug for broadcasting on CFPL AM980 Open Line Talk Show, from behind the scenes. With great admiration and aspiration to work on air, I broadened my experience over the past few years with CHRW, hosting my own call-in program and penning articles on various sports topics. I am now delighted to be expanding my audience globally with my new weekly show on Blog Talk Radio.
We’ve got a huge variety of hot topics, sports-talk and action with the athletes that tell you the real story. And to complement our conversations, I’ll be joined by a regular line-up of high profile guests, sports celebrities and top athletes who are ready to talk to you beyond the cheers.
